One World, One Heart Blog Event

Logo2010x
Photo

Some of my Etsy friends told me about this wonderful event that begins today, called One World, One Heart. I checked it out and thought it sounded like a fantastic way to connect with people that I otherwise would never have an opportunity to meet.
Then, when I saw that the theme of this year's event was "Riding the Magic Carpet" I just knew that I needed to continue in the spirit of the previous post and my excitement about the Saints making their first trip to the Super Bowl. After all, it is a pretty magical ride that we Saints fans are on these day.
I decided to give away a set of four ACEO-sized (2.5" x 3.5") photographs. These photos were taken by my son last summer on a mini-vacation to New Orleans. Professionally printed on Kodak Endura metallic photo paper, these photos provide a glimpse of the unique beauty found in the New Orleans French Quarter.
What I'd like for you to do is tell me (in the comments section) if you've ever been to New Orleans. If you have, what is your favorite thing about this magnificent city? If you haven't, what would you love to see if given the opportunity to visit? You can chat about anything having to do with New Orleans....the food, the music, the art, the history. You name it!
On Feb. 14th, I'll choose one person through random drawing. That lucky person will receive this set of photos. Make sure you post through your blog or leave your email address in the comments section, so I'll know how to contact you!
While you're at it, make sure to click on the "One World, One Heart" image above. That will take you to a list of all participants, and you're going to want to visit as many as you can! Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to hear from you!

Gorgeous photos, Jessie!

I've been lucky enough to visit N.O.a few times. Funny thing: not only did this Maine girl somehow feel like I'd come home, but every time I've been some major life change is always triggered there

Oh, man-- I want to visit NO! Mostly, I want to meet the people-- everyone I've met from Louisiana (quite a few people, after the hurricanes...) has been open and bold and charming. And I'd say I want the food, but I'm not sure it's possible to go gluten free there...but I still want to go!

I've never been to NO, but I would love to stroll the French Quarter in the evening, listening to jazz after a day of antiquing. Wonderful ATC's!

Those shots are very scenic! Never been to New Orleans but I think I've seen photos of old wrought iron balcony railings from the older parts of the city. If I ever get to visit that's what I'd be on the lookout for! I love patterns on the outside of buildings, and I love older buildings.
And I'd love to ne included in your giveaway! Thank you for visiting my place!

Great Photos. I have never been to NO, or very many other places. I would love to visit there and see all the beautiful architecture and visit some of the little bistros and eat beignets.

My boyfriend & I went to New Orleans on a vacation and enjoyed a very special time together exploring this interesting city. We enjoyed having cafe au lait & beignets every evening. The magic has lasted nearly 19 years as this boyfriend became my husband and my soul mate. The photos are gorgeous & I'm sure would bring back memories for us!

I'm participating for the first time, so stop by my blog and enter my giveaway, too!

I was in NO once during Mardi Gras. I just had to go for the parades. It was a bit overwhelming for me, but I loved the charm of the French Quarter and Antoine's. Also a small place for tea either in or near the French Quarter, which I think was called the Three Sisters.

Your photos are stunning and magical because I know the city has changed a lot since I was there.

I'm # 79 on this magic carpet ride.

I've always wanted to visit New Orleans. Since I was a kid I've been obsessed with Louisiana, reading any book that remotely mentioned it -- unusual for a kid from the Canadian prairies. Beautiful photos - thanks for the chance to win. Visit me at www.lolafaloola.blogspot.com (#874) whenever you get a chance.

Greetings from up in Maine....and no we don't have our beloved Patriots going to the Super Bowl this time. That is okay, I still watch just for the commercials anyway. Thank you so much for being a follower. Nice to meet you. I would love to come to Louisiana to meet you. Unfortunately the farthest south I have been is Washington DC. I'll be rooting for your team.

I lived in New Orleans from 1979-82, when I was 11-14. I come from a small island on the western coast of Norway, and my life changed in almost every way! I lived with my family, and went to an American school, had American friends. Everything was so big! I have a lot of fond memories from this city: Mardi Gras, the Jazz & Heritage Festival, the Norwegian Seamen´s church, Audobon Zoo, Schneckenburger Elementary School, southern fried chicken, Lakeside shopping centre, the heat! the pools, the motorways, the floods in the spring... I went back in 2000, but just for a one-day visit. I decided to spend time with my old neighbor who then lived in Baton Rouge. I thought, well, New Orleans won´t disappear, I can always come back. And the next year Katrina came visiting...

Jessie, I absolutely love the idea of a family collaberation. This is one of the best ways that families can find a true bond that will last throughout their lifetimes. I envy you for that. My family leans more towards the writing side of life. I'm the only dabbler in paint
& inks, etc. Your son's photos are just lovely. I haven't been to New Orleans in many years (native Texan here). Living in AZ now I don't know if I'll get back to NO. Visiting via the photos would be cool. Thank your son for his generosity. Tina (Yeah Saints!!)
