Well, the wonderful "One World One Heart" event isn't over yet, but I just wanted to add a huge thanks to all of you who took the time to stop by and leave a comment on my blog! It's just been delightful reading your comments and also visiting your blogs.

As you may have noticed, the "Houx Dat" Nation is electrified tonight, in anticipation of tomorrow's big game! We have gumbo at the ready, and tons of munchies on hand, including a big black and gold King Cake ! I even designed shirts for our family to mark the occasion. All we need now is a great game, hopefully ending with the Vince Lombardi trophy going home to New Orleans where it belongs!

I'm still going to send out a set of these photographs to a lucky camper at the end of the event, but have also decided to add a "mid-event" drawing Monday, Feb. 8th for an additional set of these photos... IF the Saints come through with a big win tomorrow night! So, everybody, put on your black and gold and give a big cheer. GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

Illustration Friday Topic June 26- Worn!

When I saw this week's topic, I knew exactly what I wanted to contribute! These shoes obviously have quite a few miles on them. In my imagination they are a favorite pair, and have carried this young child on many a lively adventure! This is an original acrylic painting. Fairy Tale Tattler-Inaugural Issue Features Belle!

Fashioned after another famous celebrity gossip rag, Fairy Tale Tattler is the only magazine that gives us the "up to the minute" scoop on our favorite fairy tale characters!

Ever wonder what happened after the classic story ended? Were all those "happily ever afters" really all that blissful? We all know from experience that things are not always as they appear! The inaugural issue features none other than Belle, made famous by her role in "Beauty and the Beast". Belle wisely kicked Prince Charming to the curb after quickly realizing that he had been spoiled his entire life by a doting pottery/cutlery team. Belle moved back to her little French village and is in the process of writing a tell-all book. She is quoted as stating that she "is determined that beast of a prince will not come out smelling like a rose".

Illustration Friday Topic: Enough!

I'm not currently owned by a cat, but have been in the past. I also continue to be intrigued by the complexity of the feline persona.

Through my experiences, I have drawn the following conclusions about cats. They are completely uninhibited, incapable of being shamed or chastised. In their view, they simply do nothing wrong....ever. They don't generally need humans, and don't really even like us very much. They tolerate us though, because they know we are the ones with the debit cards, the driver's licenses, and the access to the local grocery store aisles lined with cans of gourmet kitty food. Therefore, they do permit us access to their world....just enough to suit their purposes.
